Volcanoes

We learned about a famous volcano during our work on Antarctica called Mt. Erebus. It inspired some of the children to make their own volcanoes at school. We used a bottle, some shredded newspaper, flour and water mixture and tape to create the shape of the volcano. Then we painted our creations. We did all of this in our free time when we had our other work completed. We are learning to be very efficient.

We even did an experiment to make lava in the classroom. We mixed water and baking soda, some red food colouring and some washing up liquid. Finally we added the special ingredient which was vinegar and the lava soon started to flow. It was super cool.

Take a look at our wonderful creations!
