Science Week in Room 7

The girls in Room 7 turned into real scientists during Science Week and had so much fun exploring different experiments.

Our first experiment was the Skittles Experiment. We put colourful Skittles in a circle and carefully poured warm water over them. Slowly, the colours started to spread out and made a beautiful rainbow on our plates. It was fascinating to watch the sugar dissolve and mix together!

Next, we took on the Walking on Air experiment. We blew up some balloons, flipped over a table, and bravely and carefully walked across the balloons. We couldn’t believe it when they didn’t pop! We learned that the pressure from our feet was spread evenly over the balloons, which stopped them from bursting. It felt like we were walking on air!

Our last experiment was all about Static Electricity. We rubbed balloons on our hair (which made it stick up in funny ways!). Then we drew little people on tissue paper and used the balloon’s static electricity to make them dance. It looked like magic, but it was really science!
